A New School, A New Enviornment

My First Skool @ Westgate

This corner is somewhere they learn, from Term 2 (myself) so the teacher did "A minutes of Fame" to now Term 3 (animal) a "Mini Zoo" was done up by the teacher and each kids got to bring "1 animal" from home to keep there!

All diaper free :) Teacher bringing them to toilet all at one go before having their activities!

 

Ball - Time

Teacher taught them how to roll a ball, with 1 and 2 hand and a lot more.

Play time after ball-time while taking turn to bathe. Her new friend, Jarrell who also attend school on same day as her!

Racial Harmony Day

 

Two month back in June,

We changes a new school for Little Bel so she can follow up to standard and prepare to go primary school in 2 year time.

Not say her old school wasn't good but teacher there like to combine classes to teach the kids.

They like to join nursery with toddler or nursery with K1, telling us they are learning together.

Which most parent don't think is good for the kids.

Me and another 2 parent discussing about the school for a few time outside their school before fetching them back.

In her old school, they focus more on English, so her Chinese is very bad.

Her phonic is good, her motor skills is good (all pick up from Brilliant Tots) which is a good thing.

But I need her to learn more Chinese as well so she can catch up when she go primary school.

Another point which is bad is the transport. whenever hubby can't bring us, we can wait very long for bus which I don't like. If we can board the bus, it will be pack like sardine bus. I failed to on call cab many times although they confirmed but the cabby just can't locate me. I got a hard time going back whenever it is raining day.

Another main issue to change school is because I want a school more convenience for our parents, my mom need to change mrt, to a bus, then bus to mrt and bus if she gonna bring her back for me.

 

My First Skool @ Westgate was opened in January 2014.

Located at Level 5 of Westgate.

I was put on waiting list from End of January with 80 kids on queue.

Only manage to get a place in April.

Visited the School in end of april and directly enrol her as it's a super hard to get into school!

I love the environment in that school when I first step in, it's bigger than what I expected.

Can't wait for their own personal outdoor playground in September!

Wendy sister was put on waiting list on same day as me but only got her place in July.

Teacher there are so much friendly than the old school!

More willingly to share and help!

Example : nap time diaper free.

Her new Teacher Belle told me she will help me to kick off diaper during nap,

since day 1 in the school, she was not on diaper at all.

At her old school, I ask the teacher if they can try for me, the teacher told me not the time yet, she will automatically be diaper free. So I never even bother also since they do not want to help.

 

Another good thing about this school is teacher bring them to Supermarket to learn about fruits or veggie or to find insects and teaches them right on the spot!

This is her second month in this school, her Chinese improved so much,

now she talk in Chinese to us!

She know how to spell the date too.

She can write 1-4 in Chinese with no help.

She told me she's reading  : 月亮阿姨的新衣 in school.

Can read some to me which is surprisingly.

They bring home activities to do at home every 2-3 weeks.

She can do it well, write her on name and date well.

I don't need to spell her July.

She can write July 2014 herself by only asking me the date.

During last week activities, draw your favourite animal (pet's or animal).

She drew a fish without any help!

 

I did not regret changing school for her at all!

She is learning more than what we expected!

Teacher say she's doing and adapting very well in school!
